POISONS

Mothballs

  • Inappropriate use as pest control and deodorizers can create opportunities for poisoning (ex. when scattered on the floor, under beds, and in gardens).
  • Even half of a mothball can be dangerous if swallowed. Infants can absorb mothball toxins from clothing stored in mothballs.
  • Inhalation can produce nausea, vomiting, and headache .
  • Ingestion can produce sleepiness, kidney damage and death.
