North Carolina Poison Control
North Carolina Poison Control offers an elective rotation in clinical toxicology for students from the University of North Carolina and Wingate University Colleges of Pharmacy. Students from other programs are considered on an individual basis.
The students follow poisoned patients, answer drug information calls, perform literature searches, and receive didactic instruction in clinical toxicology. Students work with Specialists in Poison Information (RN's, RPh's), medical toxicologists, a PharmD toxicologist (preceptor), MD and PharmD toxicology fellows, and emergency medicine residents. For additional information, please go to Contact Us and select Clinical Toxicologist from the first text box.
