• 25 percent of nicotine remains in the cigarette butt after smoking
• Ingesting more than one full cigarette or three butts can be dangerous
• Immediate symptoms which can lead to severe toxicity:
  • nausea/vomiting
  • drooling
  • headache
  • confusion
  • increased heart rate
  • fever
